Description of the organization
""Sympraxi - PARTNERSHIP FOR GENDER ISSUES"" is a collective for every person
who wants to be active and entertained
with the organization of lectures - discussions, film screenings, visual exhibitions, events, friendly meetings in cafes, psychological empowerment, publications, etc.
for the liberation of desire and expression of the Spectrum of Homosexuality and Gender or Sex, symmetrical or asymmetrical.
""Sympraxi"" accepts the ""Charter of Fundamental Human Rights of the E.U."" which opposes discrimination based on ethnicity, nationality, language, age, beliefs, religion / atheism, body type, sexual orientation, gender identity - characteristics - appearance.
""Sympraxi"" organizes the International GLAD Film Festival of Thessaloniki (1999 to the present), also dialogue events, art exhibitions, research, workshops, publication of books on sexual orientation (homosexuality, homophobia, same-sex families, cinema, LGBTI refugees).
Every person who wants to cooperate / do activities with us is welcome.
Actions that the organisation has organised or in which it has actively participated
"(1) Thessaloniki International G.L.A.D. Film Festival (LGBTQI+), which has been held since 1999 to the present day). It shows feature and short films, narrative ones and documentaries, from all over the world. It is a competitive festival, the audience chooses the best films. It is accompanied by discussions and visual exhibitions.
(2) ""Sympraxi"" conducts investigations on homosexuality, homophobia, families of same-sex couples, cinema, LGBTI refugees, LGBTI film festivals, the female presence in Thessaloniki.
(3) ""Sympraxi"" has published as books the proceedings of conferences and researches on the above subjects.
(4) ""Sympraxi"" conducts discussions on women's employment and the elimination of violence against women regardless of nationality and age.

Volunteering opportunities provided by the organization.
"Volunteering opportunities are provided for the organization of (*) the annual Thessaloniki International G.L.A.D. Film Festival (LGBTQI), (*) the organization of film screenings and discussions, (*) research on the female and homosexual presence in Thessaloniki, (*) discussions, (*) art actions, (*) updating the social media of ""Sympraxi» and of the Festival. People with ethnic or linguistic or religious or physical backgrounds who wish to engage with it can be provided with employment that focuses on these particular interests in combination with the spectrum of sex and genders, and orientations.
Ages over 17 are suitable, as long as they have contact and interest in some of the above topics.
In the framework of the ""European Solidarity Corps"" program, people from European Union countries and cooperating countries can participate. They should speak English or German or French or Greek to be able to communicate ""with Sympraxi"".
People from other countries or from Greece should know one of the above languages and also have secured their living through some Program or from donations or from their own means.
The duration of volunteer work should be more than one month."
