\"ABBAHOUSE is a Non-Profit Organization; founded in March 2016, it carried out the vision of creating a private child welfare agency that will respond to the country\u2019s great need for the care of children in need or at risk.

ABBAHOUSE is an organized accommodation facility for minors who are deprived of parental care either due to natural causes, or after removal of custody by the competent judicial authorities. The Internal regulation of procedures of the organization is designed by the standards and directions of European Union, focusing on the child and his need to grow up in a family environment. Efforts are focused on strengthening the child\u2019s natural family or collaborating with foster care services.\nUntil the appropriate family environment is found, ABBAHOUSE is assigned an intermediary role, like a supply station. In a cozy, neutral and non-threating environment, the child is surrounded by trained and qualified adults, as well as children of various ages, who all contribute to his adaption and healing.\nIn this transitional stage, the child is soothed and strengthened.

Two-day Children's Outdoor Festival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first day of the festival was educationally framed by the scientific team of iSea, an Environmental Conservation Organization for the Preservation of the Aquatic Ecosystems. With the #zeroplastic program, games and interactive exercises were presented with the aim of informing children about plastic and microplastic pollution in the Greek seas. Also, through the Thermaikos Dolphin Project information about dolphins and whales were presented through games. The festival ended on June 29, with many activities focusing on emotional development, social and self-awareness skills, coordinated by the volunteer group of ARSIS Social Organization for Youth Support. The festival aimed to introduce child protection facilities like ABBAHOUSE to the community, as well as to raise awareness and empower with emotional skills all the children, regardless of language and origin.\nThe action was attended by families from the local community and also families from Ukraine accompanied by the staff of the Monopigado Community Center, while it was supported by companies, businesses, social and environmental organizations and our network of volunteers.

Open information event on fostering in our society<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Specifically, the formal fostering procedures, the differences between fostering and adoption and the ways in which someone can become a foster parent were presented. The purpose of the event was to raise awareness among our fellow citizens about the institution of foster care in Greece. Our campaign was organized in cooperation with the Association of the \"Network of Foster Parents and Volunteers\" and Mrs. Georgarou Eleni, legal advisor on foster care and adoption issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
